​The Blue Collar Cooperative is a small local business located in Boise, Idaho. We believe that there is value in learning how to work with your hands to build and fix things. These days it almost feels like a lost art, but it’s something we think is worth passing on to both young and old. We want to equip people with both practical skills as well as life skills that will bring a sense of confidence and resourcefulness. In our classes, we encourage people to explore areas of interest and also discover creative new ways to add to their knowledge. 

The Blue Collar Co-op is committed to making our classes accessible to a wide range of ages and experience levels, particularly offering our classes at reduced, or no cost, to vulnerable populations in our community. We aim to do this in partnership with local nonprofits who serve those who have come here as refugees as well as young adults who are aging out of the foster care system. 

THE OWNER

My name is Tim Agenbroad and I enjoy building, creating and repairing things. I especially like being able to use the skills I’ve developed in these areas to assist others. Growing up, I would often go out to help on my uncle’s farm in Owyhee County Idaho, where I learned a lot about the importance of being resourceful when it came to fixing machinery or building something you needed. The things that have been passed on to me by my uncle, as well as others in my life who I’ve worked alongside, have not only given me important life skills but have also instilled valuable life lessons that have shaped who I am as a person.
